Serve in the US | 2026-2027 Mission Trips

God has called us to go share his love with others – including right here at home in the United States. First Woodway sends people to serve all through the year – including week long summer mission trips for the entire family and smaller fall trips to serve at the Texas/Mexico border. Come join others at First Woodway and share the good news with those here in the United States. In the past, we have served alongside our partners in Texas, Massachusetts, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Washington. Our work has included leading Bible studies, completing construction work, and most importantly – sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ.

Trip Sign-Up Deadline: Nov 1, 2026
Trip Cost: $225 per person, $500 per family

Looking for a way to serve that the whole family can be part of? We’re heading back to Harlingen, Texas, to partner once again with Texas Baptist border mission work and Iglesia Bautista Los Vecinos. Our team will come alongside this church as they reach their community, building relationships and sharing the love of Christ along the way. Bring the kids, bring a friend, or just bring yourself. Three nights at a local hotel with breakfast are included. Sign up online or on the app by Nov 1.

Trip Cost: $250 per person, $500 per family

Want to see what God is doing on both sides of the border? This Texas Baptist River Ministry trip takes us to Del Rio, Texas, and across the river to Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. We’ll serve with Young Living Stones in Del Rio and partner with a Mexican Baptist church at a mission point in Acuña. We leave Thursday morning and are home by Sunday evening. Lodging is provided at Young Living Stones mission housing, and all meals are included. Sign up online or on the app by Jan 8.

Trip Cost: $250 per person, $500 per family

You don’t have to cross an ocean to make a difference. This new family-friendly trip takes us a short drive up the road to Flower Mound, Texas, to serve with Desi316, a ministry hosted by FBC Flower Mound. Desi316 builds lasting relationships with South Asian families, helping them discover a deeper purpose in a life lived for Christ. We’ll help with an outreach event and spend time connecting with local neighborhoods. Sign up online or on the app by May 14.

Trip Cost: $600 per person, $1500 per family

Trade the Texas heat for the mountains of New Mexico this summer. We’re partnering with the Red River Community House, right in the heart of downtown Red River, to serve the surrounding Questa community. The goal is simple: connect with residents, build relationships, and serve in meaningful ways. We’ll serve through hands-on work projects, lead VBS for kids in the community, and host evening outreach events at the Community House. It’s a great trip for families to serve together. Thanks for your interest in one of our domestic or international trips! We are excited to partner with you to share the Good News to the ends of the earth.  To officially register for a trip, complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out a Trip Application Form.
  2. Fill out a Liability Release Form.
  3. Submit your deposit (cash or check) to a member of the Missions Staff or to the church office.
  4. A member of the Missions Staff will contact you with required training dates and any additional information.

Short Term Trip Scholarship Application

One of the most common concerns for those interested in serving on a short-term or mid-term mission team is the cost. It can seem overwhelming to consider paying for a trip that is outside of our normal budget. However, as a body of Christ, we do not want money to be the reason we do not serve on a mission team or share the Good News. We believe that God can and will provide for our needs. It will take some intentionality and hard work, but time and time again God has proven that He is faithful to those He calls. Perhaps the most valuable part of your preparation for a trip is developing your own support team. This support team is made up of both prayer supporters and financial contributors. The goal here is to develop a team – not just raise funds! We encourage each team member to enlist 5-10 people to pray for the team, team member, the area the team is traveling to, and the ministry on the ground. This is a great opportunity to involved small groups and those who are unable to go on the trip.

Another way you can participate in missions is through giving. 

You may not be aware that whenever you give to First Woodway you are already supporting missions. Eight percent of your regular gifts are used to fund mission work in Texas and around the world through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. Many of our members contribute to missions over and above their regular tithe. These gifts are used to support our church’s mission partners, help us send teams to the mission field, and fund projects in Waco and around the world. You can designate a gift for missions by indicating your desire on your giving envelope or the memo line of your check.
